Following the success of the lead single, “yes, and?,” Ariana Grande has officially announced her seventh studio album.
Titled “eternal sunshine,” the LP will arrive sooner than you think. In fact, the pop star took to her social media, sharing new photos with a caption that doesn’t leave space for imagination: “eternal sunshine 3.8,” she wrote. So, the LP will be released next March 8. The album’s title is a reference to the 2004 film “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.” A first clue of the title appeared in the music video for “yes, and?” as it featured geographical coordinates that locate Montauk, New York, where the film was shot.
Produced by Max Martin, “yes, and?” has secured massive success so far. Since its release, the song spent every day at the top of the Daily Global Spotify Chart and amassed more than 40 million streams on the platform. It also aims for a No. 1 debut in many countries, including the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. On both charts, Ariana already boasts seven No. 1 hits.
“Eternal Sunshine” will mark Ariana’s first album since 2020 when she gave fans “Positions.” In the last four years, the 30-year-old singer had a busy schedule due to the film “Wicked,” in which she stars as Galinda Upland, a young woman who later becomes Glinda the Good. In 2022, the “7 Rings” singer revealed that she would not be in the studio until the filming of “Wicked” was done, and she definitely kept her word!
Ariana’s latest album, “Positions,” is dated October 30, 2020. The record was a massive success, topping several charts and earning a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album. Three tracks from the album were released as singles: “Positions,” “34+35,” and “POV.”
