Ariana Grande has officially returned to the stage. On June 6, the pop superstar launched the highly anticipated Eternal Sunshine Tour at Oakland Arena in California, marking her first headline tour show in nearly seven years and delivering a career-spanning set packed with fan favorites, deep cuts, and new material.

The opening night carried enormous significance for Grande and her fanbase. Since concluding the Sweetener World Tour in December 2019, the singer has largely focused on recording projects, film work, and her starring role in Wicked and Wicked: For Good. Saturday’s concert finally brought her back to the live arena stage, kicking off a 41-date run across North America and Europe.

Grande opened the show with “yes, and?”, recreating choreography from the song’s music video before moving through a carefully curated 24-song setlist. The production leaned heavily into the dreamlike aesthetic of Eternal Sunshine, featuring theatrical staging, ethereal visuals, and cinematic transitions that reflected the themes of memory, healing, and self-discovery explored throughout the album.

Several highlights immediately sparked discussion across social media. During “the boy is mine,” Grande incorporated a dramatic whip-assisted performance sequence. One notable surprise came from what wasn’t included. Despite featuring material from Yours Truly, My Everything, Dangerous Woman, Thank U, Next, Positions, Eternal Sunshine, and her upcoming album petal, Grande did not perform any songs from Sweetener.

The tour arrives during another major commercial peak for Grande. Her upcoming eighth studio album, petal, is scheduled for release on July 31, while lead single “hate that i made you love me” debuted at No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart this week.

Demand for the Eternal Sunshine Tour has reflected that momentum. Millions of fans attempted to secure tickets when sales opened in September 2025, resulting in sold-out arenas across multiple markets and additional dates being added in response to overwhelming demand.

With Oakland now in the books, Grande begins the next chapter of a tour many fans have waited years to see.
