Ariana Grande has added another milestone to her record-breaking career. Her eighth studio album, petal, debuts at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart, becoming her sixth consecutive chart-topper in the country.

The achievement arrives just one week after petal was released on July 31, continuing the album’s remarkable commercial run across multiple markets. It now joins Dangerous Woman (2016), Sweetener (2018), thank u, next (2019), Positions (2020) and eternal sunshine (2024) as Ariana Grande’s UK No. 1 albums.

The latest chart victory comes ahead of Ariana Grande’s return to Britain for the UK leg of her eternal sunshine Tour, where she is scheduled to perform ten sold-out shows at The O2 in London next week.

Commercially, the project has delivered blockbuster numbers since release. Petal opened with 62.19 million Spotify streams worldwide on its first day, while all 12 songs simultaneously entered the Daily Global Spotify Chart. The album also debuted atop the ARIA Albums Chart (Australia) earlier today.

Ariana Grande has continued supporting the album with an aggressive release strategy. Earlier this week, she unveiled official instrumental and a cappella editions of all 12 tracks, following the digital-exclusive “hello, i love to sing” edition of the title track. Those releases have helped keep petal atop digital storefronts, with Ariana simultaneously occupying the top two positions on the U.S. iTunes albums chart.

Elsewhere on this week’s UK Albums Chart, Michael Jackson’s The Essential debuted at No. 2, Olivia Rodrigo’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love remained at No. 3, and Katy Perry’s The Ones That Got the Plays climbed to a new peak at No. 8.
