Ariana Grande has added another milestone to her already dominant 2026 campaign. On June 1, “hate that i made you love me” returned to No. 1 on the Daily Global Spotify Chart with 5.539 million streams, becoming the first song released this year by a female artist to spend multiple days atop the platform’s global ranking.

The achievement arrives just days after the track debuted at No. 1 following its May 29 release. The song initially opened with 8.788 million streams globally and 2.8 million streams in the United States, making it one of the strongest first-day performances of Grande’s career.

After briefly surrendering the top position to Michael Jackson’s enduring classic “Billie Jean,” Grande reclaimed the crown on June 1 following the release of the song’s official music video. The Christian Breslauer-directed visual generated immediate conversation online and appears to have helped drive renewed streaming momentum.

With two days at No. 1, Grande becomes the first female artist to spend multiple days atop Spotify’s global chart with a song released in 2026. She is also only the third artist overall to achieve the feat this year. BTS currently holds the longest-running chart-topper for a song released in 2026, with “Swim,” the lead single from ARIRANG, spending 25 days at No. 1. Bruno Mars previously managed a two-day reign with “Risk It All.”

The renewed streaming surge comes as fans continue dissecting every frame of the “hate that i made you love me” music video. The cinematic clip stars Justin Long and unfolds like a psychological thriller, following a destructive and obsessive relationship that escalates through a series of increasingly surreal scenes.

One moment in particular has captured the attention of Arianators. During a sequence set inside the Bunny Hop diner, multiple versions of Grande appear wearing retro diner uniforms. Two visible name tags read “PETAL” and “FREAK,” prompting widespread speculation that Grande may have quietly revealed the title of the next single from her upcoming eighth studio album.

The commercial performance of “hate that i made you love me” only adds to the growing anticipation surrounding petal. The single became Grande’s first Spotify Global No. 1 in over two years.
