The BET Awards 2024 took place last night at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, celebrating excellence in Black entertainment by honoring achievements in music, film, television, and sports. Actress Taraji P. Henson hosted the show for the fourth year. Although a star like Normani had to give up performing due to a knee injury during rehearsals, fans enjoyed spectacular performances. Megan Thee Stallion opened the show by lighting up the stage with a medley “Hiss,” “Boa,” and “Where Them Girls At” from her new album “MEGAN.” Additionally, the likes of Shaboozey, Ice Spice, Victoria Monét, Will Smith, and Coco Jones also took the stage to perform.
Tyla, Usher and Victoria Monét emerged as the night’s biggest winners, taking home two awards each. Killer Mike’s “Michael” won Album of the Year. Nicki Minaj and SZA were awarded Best Female Hip Hop Artist and Best Female R&B Artist, respectively.
