Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD Foundation is donating $200,000 to support flood relief efforts in Indiana, directing the funds to organizations working directly with communities affected by historic flooding. The contribution will help provide food, household supplies and other essential resources to residents facing displacement and ongoing recovery.
According to the foundation, the donation will be distributed between City Life Center and Angel by Nature, two organizations assisting residents in some of the hardest-hit areas, including Gary. The money is intended to support immediate relief efforts for families whose homes and livelihoods were affected by the disaster.
The flooding followed a derecho storm and extreme rainfall in mid-August that caused catastrophic damage across Indiana. The resulting flooding along the White River led to at least seven deaths, displaced more than 1,000 residents and destroyed or severely damaged infrastructure throughout affected communities.
BeyGOOD said the funds will provide immediate assistance to people who have been left without stable housing and access to basic necessities. Food, household supplies and other essentials are among the resources expected to reach residents as local organizations continue their recovery work.
The Indiana donation comes just days after Beyoncé announced an even larger contribution to earthquake relief efforts in Colombia. Last week, the Grammy-winning icon pledged $1 million to organizations operating on the ground following the magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck the Chocó region on August 10.
That donation is earmarked for food and housing supplies in areas hit hardest by the earthquake, which caused deaths, critical injuries and extensive damage to homes, roads and infrastructure. The disaster also disrupted food supplies after numerous homes were destroyed, leaving residents without shelter.
The latest donations arrive as Beyoncé is also marking a major anniversary in her music career, with the 20th anniversary of her sophomore solo album B’DAY becoming the focus of a major physical reissue campaign.
Parkwood Entertainment announced the B’DAY 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition on August 26. The four-LP set, priced at $149.98, is pressed on 180-gram “Bayou Blue” vinyl and includes additional recordings, Spanish-language versions, B-sides, a 60-page commemorative booklet and two collectible art prints.
The anniversary campaign has also brought renewed attention to “Morning Dew (DONK),” which Beyoncé officially released on July 4 after years of circulating among fans as an unfinished leak. The song debuted at No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100, while reaching No. 7 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and No. 3 on Hot R&B Songs. A four-track remix package followed on August 5, including a version featuring Jay-Z credited as JAŸ-Z.
