Rihanna has added another massive Spotify milestone to her catalog. “Only Girl (In the World)” has officially surpassed 2 billion streams on the platform, making Rihanna the first female artist in history to have eight songs reach the milestone.
Overall, only The Weeknd (11), Bruno Mars (10), and Justin Bieber (9) have more.
“Only Girl (In the World)” now sits alongside “We Found Love,” which leads Rihanna’s catalog with 2.6 billion Spotify streams, followed by “This Is What You Came For” and “Umbrella” with 2.3 billion each. “Love The Way You Lie” has also crossed 2.3 billion streams, while “Love on the Brain” stands at 2.2 billion. “Stay” and “Diamonds” have each surpassed 2 billion.
Released on September 10, 2010, “Only Girl (In the World)” served as the lead single from Rihanna’s fifth studio album, Loud. Produced by Stargate and Sandy Vee and co-written by Crystal Johnson, the dance-pop and Eurodance track marked a deliberate shift away from the darker sound of 2009’s Rated R.
The song became one of the defining hits of the Loud era, eventually reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Its chart run also produced a notable Billboard first: “Only Girl (In the World)” became the first album lead single to reach No. 1 after the album’s second single had already topped the chart, following “What’s My Name?” to the summit.
“Only Girl (In the World)” won Best Dance Recording at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, adding another major accolade to a single that has continued to find new audiences more than 15 years after its release.
The Spotify milestone arrives at an intriguing moment for Rihanna, who has spent much of the past decade away from the traditional album cycle. Her most recent studio album, ANTI, was released in January 2016 and has remained a major streaming success while Rihanna focused heavily on her Fenty businesses and motherhood.
Fresh momentum surrounding her long-awaited follow-up has emerged in 2026. In August, A$AP Rocky revealed during an interview on The Jason Lee Show that Rihanna is “in the studio right now” working on new music, describing her as actively “cooking.”
Rihanna has also made several moves that have reignited interest in a musical comeback, including a surprise appearance alongside JAY-Z at his final Yankee Stadium concert.
