Beyoncé has officially added a new trophy to her legendary collection. The global superstar has won her first-ever Primetime Emmy Award for Beyoncé Bowl, the Netflix special capturing her electrifying NFL Christmas Day halftime performance. The win came in the juried category for Outstanding Costumes for Variety, Nonfiction, or Reality Programming, a distinction determined by peer panels rather than traditional nominations and voting.

The honor was shared with her costume design team — Shiona Turini, Erica Rice, Molly Peters, Chelsea Staebell, and Timothy White — whose work brought the performance’s bold rodeo-meets-runway aesthetic to life.

The halftime show took place during the 2024 NFL Christmas Day game between the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans. It was the first halftime performance of its kind for a Christmas Day NFL broadcast, instantly becoming a cultural event. With over 500 performers, all eyes were on Queen B, who made a spectacular entry on a white horse. The spectacle featured guest appearances from Post Malone, Shaboozey, and Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. Netflix’s recording of the event allowed fans worldwide to experience the iconic performance.

While Beyoncé is no stranger to Emmy recognition — she has received multiple nominations for specials such as Homecoming and Black Is King — this marks her first win from the Television Academy. The achievement also moves her one step closer to the coveted EGOT status, an exclusive club of artists who have earned Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards. With a record-breaking 35 Grammy Awards already under her belt, this Emmy fills a long-missing piece in her awards legacy. In addition, she joins an elite group of singers with an Emmy, the latest being Lady Gaga, who won a Sports Emmy for her Super Bowl performance of “Hold My Hand.”
