Brent Faiyaz is gearing up for his return with his new album, Icon, arriving tonight through ISO Supremacy and UnitedMasters. The project follows 2022’s Wasteland and the 2023 mixtape Larger Than Life. After an unexpected delay in late 2025, Icon is finally seeing the light of day. With just a few hours to go before the album’s launch, here’s a complete guide.

A Reset Before Release

The road to Icon was not linear. The album was initially scheduled for release on September 19, 2025. It was fully recorded. A rollout had begun. Then, the night before its release, Faiyaz pulled it. His team later confirmed that he scrapped the album, along with an additional lead single and video, choosing instead to pivot creatively.

When he returned with “Have To” on October 31, it signaled refinement rather than retreat. The single later peaked at No. 37 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

The Team Behind Icon

Executive produced by Raphael Saadiq, Icon leans into minimalist yet polished R&B. Production credits include Benny Blanco, Chad Hugo, Dpat of Sonder, Paperboy Fabe, Tommy Richman, and others. Notably, the album features no guest appearances.

Faiyaz has described the album as an exploration of duality. In a prior interview, he spoke of “innocence versus indecency” and “vulnerability versus guardedness.”

Tracklist and Scrapped Beginnings

Two early singles, “Tony Soprano” and “Peter Pan,” were released on July 4, 2025, shortly after Faiyaz wiped his Instagram account and teased the album. However, neither song made the final cut following the album’s delay. Below is the full tracklist.

  1. White Noise
  2. Wrong Faces
  3. Have To
  4. Butterflies
  5. Other Side
  6. Strangers
  7. World Is Yours
  8. Four Seasons
  9. Pure Fantasy
  10. Vanilla Sky
