After stepping away from social media for a period of time, Camila Cabello is back on Instagram, and fans are already convinced that a new musical era is taking shape.
On Sunday (June 7), the singer quietly returned to her Instagram Stories, sharing a series of personal photos alongside a message that appeared to offer an update on what has been keeping her busy in recent months. While she stopped short of announcing a release date or revealing specific details about her next project, the post strongly suggested that work on her fifth studio album is continuing behind the scenes.
“If i have been gone it’s because i’m focusing on making things,” Cabello wrote. “yes music and also memories and new mistakes and also bread.”
The message immediately sparked speculation among fans, particularly because it follows months of subtle hints that new material is on the way. Throughout the first half of 2026, Cabello has periodically shared studio photos and behind-the-scenes snapshots, confirming that recording sessions for her next album are actively underway.
Although little is known about the direction of the project, anticipation remains high given the artistic shift she introduced with 2024’s C,XOXO. Released on June 28, 2024, the album marked her first full-length project after leaving Epic Records and signing with Geffen and Interscope Records. The record embraced a more experimental sound, blending pop, alt-pop, hyperpop, hip-hop, and dance influences while featuring collaborations with artists including Playboi Carti, Lil Nas X, Drake, JT, Yung Miami, and BLP Kosher.
Commercially, C,XOXO debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 with 36,500 t units in its opening week. The album featured hit singles such as “I Luv It,” “He Knows,” “Hot Uptown,” and “Godspeed.”
Music hasn’t been her only focus this year. In April, Cabello made a surprise appearance during Young Thug’s set at Coachella 2026, joining the rapper onstage and treating festivalgoers to a performance of her breakthrough smash “Havana.”
