The first midweek predictions for the upcoming Billboard 200 chart are in, and it’s shaping up to be a tight race for the top spot. According to HITS Daily Double, Sabrina Carpenter and Travis Scott are currently vying for No. 1 after both dropped new albums last Friday. Sabrina’s latest effort, Short n’ Sweet, is currently leading the pack with 317,000 units, putting her on track for the biggest debut of her career and potentially her first No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

However, standing in Sabrina’s way is Travis Scott’s Days Before Rodeo. The re-released mixtape is trailing by 100,000 units but could still pose a serious challenge. HITS Daily Double notes that “Scott, known for his massive D2C (direct-to-consumer) sales, could play the part of spoiler if those final numbers come in stronger than projected.”

While Sabrina is hoping to secure her first Billboard 200 No. 1, she’s already celebrated her first chart-topping hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Please Please Please.” What’s certain is that Short n’ Sweet will mark her first top 10 entry on the Billboard 200. Previously, she’s had five albums and the EP Fruitcake chart, with her highest position being No. 23 for Emails I Can’t Send. On the other hand, Travis Scott is no stranger to the top of the Billboard 200, with three No. 1 albums already to his name: Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight (2016), ASTROWORLD (2018), and Utopia (2023).
