Dove Cameron’s fans won’t have to wait much longer to hear new music from their idol. The 2x VMA-winner released her debut album, Alchemical: Vol. 1, six months ago, featuring just eight tracks. However, as the title suggests, it was merely the first taste of a larger project. Dove revealed that she penned around 60 songs and wanted to share as many as she could with listeners. Over the past few months, the 28-year-old singer has been hard at work in the recording studio to finish the project.

Today (June 24), Dove shared recent photos and confirmed that she has completed recording the follow-up to Alchemical: Vol. 1. She used just a few—but straightforward—words: “The album is done.” That’s not all. The singer also posted a short snippet of a track and a tracklist with all the titles hidden. The upcoming album will feature 21 songs, more than double the number on her previous record. Fans quickly filled the comments section with excitement: “21 songs i could cry i can’t wait to hear what you’ve been working on,” wrote one. “21 tracks??? omg. i’m excited,” added another. One fan asked if it would be a volume 2, combining the eight tracks from the first album with thirteen new ones. Dove simply responded, “no,” hinting at an entirely new body of work. Thus, it will likely not be a volume 2, but a standalone project.

Alchemical: Vol. 1, released at the end of 2023, featured her breakout hit “Boyfriend.” The song earned critical acclaim and quickly became her most successful single to date, reaching the top 20 in the US and the top 10 in the UK. While no further details about Dove’s sophomore album are available yet, fans can look forward to new material from the singer soon.
