Ella Langley continues rewriting country music history on the Billboard Hot 100. Her breakout smash “Choosin’ Texas” officially logs a 10th week at No. 1, becoming the longest-running Hot 100 chart-topper ever by a solo female country artist.

The milestone pushes Langley past a record previously held by Taylor Swift, whose 2012 crossover anthem “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” spent three weeks atop the chart. While country songs by women have occasionally reached No. 1 over the decades, none had maintained that dominance for double-digit weeks until now.

Langley’s chart takeover extends beyond a single song. According to Billboard, “Be Her” simultaneously rises to No. 2 this week, making the Alabama native the 20th act in Hot 100 history to occupy the chart’s top two positions at the same time. Among solo female artists, only four women have ever accomplished the feat, with Langley and Swift standing as the only two to do so as lead artists on both songs.

The achievement places Langley alongside some of the biggest chart monopolizers of all time. The Beatles still lead the category with 10 weeks controlling the Hot 100’s top two spots simultaneously, followed by OutKast with eight and Drake with seven. Justin Bieber and T.I. each logged six weeks, while artists including Ashanti, Taylor Swift, Pharrell Williams, and Iggy Azalea each reached five.

Commercially, “Choosin’ Texas” has evolved from a country-radio breakout into one of 2026’s defining hits. Additionally, Langley swept several major categories at the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards on May 17, including Female Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, Song of the Year, and Artist-Songwriter of the Year.

Elsewhere on the chart, Olivia Dean reaches a historic milestone of her own. The London singer-songwriter places her first two Hot 100 top-five hits simultaneously inside the top five for the first time, as “Man I Need” rebounds to No. 3 while “So Easy (To Fall in Love)” climbs to a new No. 5 peak. Dean becomes the first British woman to achieve that feat since Adele in 2021.
