Ella Langley continues to make Billboard history. Her breakthrough smash “Choosin’ Texas” remains at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a 15th week, becoming the longest-running non-holiday solo No. 1 by a female artist in the chart’s 67-year history.
The milestone places Langley ahead of two legendary records, surpassing Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together” and Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You,” which each spent 14 weeks atop the Hot 100. Only a handful of songs in history have enjoyed longer overall reigns at No. 1.
The latest Billboard Hot 100 also marks another dominant week for country music. For the second time in the chart’s history, country songs occupy the entire top four. Behind “Choosin’ Texas,” Taylor Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You” holds at No. 2 for a fifth consecutive week after opening with two weeks at No. 1 in June. Stella Lefty earns a new career peak as “Boston” climbs 6-3, while Langley and Morgan Wallen’s “I Can’t Love You Anymore” rebounds to its No. 4 high.
Released on October 17, 2025, “Choosin’ Texas” served as the lead single from Ella Langley’s sophomore album Dandelion. Written by Langley alongside Luke Dick, Miranda Lambert and Joybeth Taylor, and produced by Lambert and Ben West, the song quickly became a crossover phenomenon. Beyond topping the Billboard Hot 100, it also reached No. 1 in Australia, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand while peaking inside the UK Top 5.
With 15 weeks now under its belt, “Choosin’ Texas” is only one week away from tying the overall non-holiday Hot 100 record shared by “One Sweet Day,” “Despacito,” and “Last Night” at 16 weeks.
