Returning to the Gocheok Sky Dome for the first time in three years, the MelOn Music Awards continues to reinforce its status as one of Korea’s premier year-end music festivals. Since debuting as an online ceremony in 2005 and transitioning to an offline format in 2009, the awards have consistently recognized musical excellence through a combination of streaming data, fan votes, and expert evaluations.

This year, the MMA introduced a significant update to its TOP10 award criteria. The results, once determined by 80% streaming data and 20% fan votes, will now include 20% expert review, ensuring a more balanced reflection of both popularity and artistic impact. Meanwhile, the Millions TOP10 award, dedicated to albums that have surpassed one million streams on MelOn, will maintain its existing formula of 80% streaming data and 20% fan voting.
