On August 23, 2019, Taylor Swift once again took the music industry by storm with her seventh studio album, Lover. Marking her first project after parting ways with Big Machine Records, the pop superstar described the album as a “love letter to love.” The LP quickly became a fan favorite among Swifties, with standout tracks like “Me!” and “You Need to Calm Down.” It also produced the hit single “Lover” and Taylor’s most-streamed song to date, “Cruel Summer,” which gained significant traction on social media over the past two years.

Upon its release, Lover debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with an impressive 867,000 album-equivalent units, while all 18 tracks entered the Billboard Hot 100. The album ended 2019 as the year’s best-selling album and is currently certified 3x Platinum in the US. Now, over five years later, the Grammy-nominated album is aiming to return to the top spot on the Billboard 200 this week. But how is the pop star making it happen?

In recent days, Taylor Swift released a special heart-shaped vinyl edition of Lover (Live From Paris). Fans were quick to snag a copy, with 150,000 units sold in under an hour in the US. According to Hits Daily Double, Lover is now projected to reclaim the number one spot on the Billboard 200, currently leading the race against Lil Baby’s WHAM. The album previously spent just one week at the top of the chart but reached the rare milestone of 250 weeks on the chart last summer.
