Kali Uchis is drawing a firm line when it comes to unauthorized music leaks, and she is not softening the message. During a recent Twitch livestream, the Grammy-winning artist addressed the growing culture of unreleased songs being stolen and circulated online, delivering a blunt warning that quickly caught fans’ attention. “Let’s talk about the fact that people are leaking music every day,” Uchis said. “And the handcuffs will go on.”

The comment was not made lightly. Kali Uchis has recently found herself directly affected by the issue, as a demo of “Muévelo” surfaced online without her consent in late 2025. Originally recorded during the sessions for her 2024 album Orquídeas, the upbeat, dance-forward track was never intended for release in its leaked form. Still, once snippets began spreading across TikTok and fan pages, the song rapidly gained traction, becoming an unexpected fan favorite.

While many artists choose silence or quietly shelve leaked material, Uchis opted for a more transparent response. On December 19, 2025, she officially released the finished version of “Muévelo,” framing the decision as her “final act of self love this year.” In her announcement, she openly acknowledged that the track had been “a demo leaked against my will,” reclaiming ownership of the narrative. The release paid off quickly, with the song surpassing 1.3 million Spotify streams in its first full day.
