Lady Gaga has officially been added to the performer lineup for the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, scheduled for September 7 at UBS Arena in New York. Gaga, who leads this year’s nominations with 12 nods, will join an already star-studded roster of artists, promising one of the most memorable performances in recent VMA history.
This announcement follows the earlier reveal of performers including Doja Cat, Tate McRae, Post Malone, Conan Gray, and Jelly Roll, who will each take the stage. The first round of performers featured names such as Sabrina Carpenter, Alex Warren, J Balvin, DJ Snake, Ricky Martin, Busta Rhymes, and Sombr, many of whom are also vying for major awards.

This year’s VMAs also honor influential figures in music culture. Busta Rhymes will receive the inaugural Rock The Bells Visionary Award, celebrating his cultural impact, while Ricky Martin will be honored with the Latin Icon Award for decades of global influence. Legendary vocalist Mariah Carey will receive the Vanguard Award.
The 2025 VMAs introduce two new categories—Best Country Artist and Best Pop Artist—reflecting the growing diversity and evolution of global music. With LL Cool J returning as solo host for the first time, the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards will broadcast live on MTV, CBS, and Paramount+ on September 7, 2025.
