Laufey has signed with Interscope Records/Verve Records after building one of the biggest independent success careers in jazz-pop. The two-time GRAMMY winner joins the labels after a six-year run that has produced more than seven billion combined global streams, sold-out arena tours and a rapidly expanding audience for jazz- and classical-influenced pop.
The deal comes shortly after Laufey completed her 70-date A Matter of Time Tour, closing the trek last Saturday with a sold-out concert in Mexico City. She is now working on new music, marking the beginning of a new chapter following the international success of her third studio album.

Released August 22, 2025, A Matter of Time arrived through Laufey’s independent Vingolf Recordings and AWAL before earning widespread critical acclaim. The album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 with 99,000 equivalent album units, while also opening at No. 1 on both the Independent Albums and Top Jazz Albums charts.
In the U.K., A Matter of Time reached No. 3 on the Official Albums Chart, giving Laufey her first top-10 album in the country after Bewitched peaked at No. 13.
The album’s success extended Laufey’s Grammy run. A Matter of Time won Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, following Bewitched’s victory in the same category in 2024. A deluxe edition, A Matter of Time: The Final Hour, followed on April 10, 2026.
Laufey’s growing profile has also reached well beyond recorded music. She was named one of TIME’s 2025 Women of the Year, became an Icelandic Knight through the Order of the Falcon and saw her first children’s book, Mei Mei The Bunny, become a New York Times bestseller.
Her annual A Very Laufey Day has become another extension of that cultural reach. The fourth edition in August 2026 brought events to 75 cities across more than 25 countries, featuring orchestras, ballet, jazz, opera, theater and museum, library, bookstore and café events. Proceeds from brand collaborations and merchandise supported The Laufey Foundation, which provides greater access to education and resources for young musicians.
With Interscope and Verve now behind her next chapter, Laufey enters a new phase with an established global audience, two GRAMMY-winning albums and a catalog that has already helped introduce younger listeners to jazz and classical music.
