Laufey once again treats listeners’ ears with her gentle vocals on her third studio album, A Matter of Time, out now via Vingolf Recordings and AWAL. Known for blending jazz, classical, and modern pop into a sound uniquely her own, the Icelandic singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has quickly become one of today’s most recognizable voices.
The 14-track record arrives as both a continuation and an evolution of her artistry, which began with Everything I Know About Love, solidified with the Grammy-winning Bewitched, and now continues with A Matter of Time. For this project, Laufey teams once again with producer Spencer Stewart and, for the first time, collaborates with Aaron Dessner, Taylor Swift’s longtime creative partner. Thematically, she leans into heavier subjects such as anxiety, imperfection, and self-discovery. “This time, I was interested in seeing how I could draw out the most flawed parts of myself and look at them directly in the mirror,” Laufey explained in an official press release.
