Lola Young is riding a wave of rising popularity—arguably at its peak—and has just announced her third studio album, I’m Only F—king Myself. The LP is slated for release on September 19 via Island Records and builds on the massive success of her viral hit “Messy,” which marked her breakthrough over the past few months. As one of the most dynamic new voices in pop and alternative music, Lola’s upcoming album is highly anticipated. Here’s what we know so far.

Following her 2024 breakout with the viral hit “Messy”—which topped the UK Singles Chart for four consecutive weeks and achieved international success, hitting No. 1 in Australia, Belgium, Ireland, and Israel, and peaking at No. 14 on the US Billboard Hot 100—Lola Young quickly became an artist to watch. The song earned her three Ivor Novello nominations and a BRIT nomination as well. Capitalizing on that momentum, she released “One Thing” in May—her first single of 2025 and the official lead track from the upcoming album.

“One Thing” showcases Lola’s blend of spoken word, emotional honesty, and tremendous vocal ability. “It’s a song that on first listen sounds like I’m talking about one thing,” she said. “Sex. Which I am, of course. However, sex in itself is never about one thing.”

I’m Only F—king Myself follows Lola’s 2024 sophomore album This Wasn’t Meant for You Anyway, which solidified her status as one of the most compelling emerging artists. It also comes just two years after her 2023 debut My Mind Wanders and Sometimes Leaves Completely. Notably, this marks her third full-length release in as many years, showcasing her consistency and artistic commitment.
