Mariah Carey has once again reclaimed her holiday throne. “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has returned to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, rising four spots and earning a record-tying 19th week at the top. The achievement places the modern classic alongside Shaboozey’s 2024 hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” as the longest-running No. 1 in the chart’s 67-year history.
The song’s latest ascent marks the seventh holiday season in which it has led the Hot 100, extending Carey’s already unmatched record. Originally released in 1994 on her album Merry Christmas, the track found renewed momentum in the streaming era, entering the top 10 for the first time in 2017 and reaching the top five a year later. Since then, it has become a seasonal staple, hitting No. 1 in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and now 2025.
This week’s return to the summit also adds another milestone to Carey’s historic résumé. With “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” she secures her 19th career No. 1 — the most among solo artists and just one away from tying The Beatles’ all-time record of 20. She also remains the only artist to score Hot 100 chart-toppers across four separate decades, spanning the 1990s through the 2020s.
The song now ties for the longest domination among all No. 1s since the chart began in 1958. Its run also extends the longest span between a song’s first and most recent week at No. 1, coming just shy of six years from December 2019 to December 2025.
Carey, meanwhile, continues to set benchmarks for chart longevity. She now holds 98 cumulative weeks at No. 1 — more than any artist in the Hot 100’s history. Her reign stretches over 35 years, beginning with her 1990 debut single “Vision of Love.” Only Brenda Lee surpasses that timeline, thanks to the resurgence of “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” in 2024.
