Marina Diamandis, known simply as Marina, is set to make her highly anticipated return to music with her sixth studio album, Princess of Power. Slated for release this Friday, June 6, the record marks a significant milestone in her career—not only is it her first release since parting ways with Atlantic Records, but it’s also her first fully independent album since her early days. Princess of Power will be released via her own label, Queenie Records, in partnership with BMG Rights Management. The album’s release will coincide with Marina’s performance at the WorldPride Music Festival in Washington, D.C., marking the first live performance of the entire LP. Themes and Sound
At its core, Princess of Power is a bold synth-pop project filled with confidence and color. Marina has described the album as her “joyful rebellion,” aimed at bringing levity and authenticity to a world overwhelmed by anxiety and unrest. The 13-track record explores themes of personal transformation, self-love, aging, and the societal expectations placed on women. The title is a nod to the classic ’80s animated heroine She-Ra.
