Troye Sivan returns with his fourth studio album, She’s the Best, a 12-track project that explores the tension between euphoric freedom and the loneliness hiding beneath it. Released on October 9, the album follows the global success of Something to Give Each Other and finds the Australian pop star embracing a more personal, creatively ambitious chapter.
Across the record, Troye Sivan moves between nightlife’s intoxicating highs, intimate reflections on desire and the uncertainty of waiting for a love that has yet to arrive. The title track celebrates the women and femme people who have shaped his life, while “Party” captures the liberation of losing yourself in a night out. New single “FF,” meanwhile, turns inward, imagining an enduring romance with a man Sivan has not yet met. Together, the songs reveal an artist interested in the emotional contradictions that exist behind the party.
Written and produced alongside collaborators including Jack Antonoff, George Daniel, Cirkut, Madison Love, Leland and Jasper Harris, She’s the Best brings together an expansive pop sound and moments of personal introspection. Troye Sivan described the album as a painting of his life in all its moods and colours, capturing the high-octane experiences of the past few years alongside the solitude that followed. The result reflects the less glamorous side of a life shaped by touring, late nights and returning to empty hotel rooms after performing for thousands of fans.
The record also marks a creative milestone for Sivan, who takes on a producer role for the first time. Recording much of his vocals from his home office, he returned to the freedom he remembers from making music in his childhood bedroom, pursuing a sound that felt unmistakably his own. That approach gives the album room to explore complicated feelings without losing the dancefloor instincts that have defined Something to Give Each.
