Olivia Rodrigo opens a new chapter with immediate impact. Her new single “Drop Dead” debuts at No. 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart, marking her fourth chart-topper in Australia and setting the tone for her upcoming third album, You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love, due in June.

The debut continues a pattern that has defined Rodrigo’s career since 2021. “Drivers License” spent six weeks at No. 1, “Good 4 U” followed with five, and “Vampire” added another week on top in 2023. Now, “Drop Dead” extends that streak.

Momentum behind the single has been visible globally. Released on April 17, “Drop Dead” opened with 10.709 million streams on Spotify, debuting at No. 1 on the Global chart and delivering the biggest first-day total of Rodrigo’s career. That figure places it among the strongest debuts of 2026, trailing only a handful of releases while leading all female artists this year.

Meanwhile, Olivia Dean holds firm at No. 1 on the Albums Chart with The Art Of Loving for a 13th non-consecutive week, marking the longest run at the top by an English female artist since Ed Sheeran’s ÷ dominated for 27 weeks between 2017 and 2018. Meanwhile, Justin Bieber continues his post-Coachella surge, with Swag climbing from No. 12 to No. 4 and “Daisies” rising to the same position on the singles chart, while “Beauty And A Beat” re-enters at No. 5.

Elsewhere, Matt Corby secures a strong debut at No. 3 on the Albums Chart with Tragic Magic, topping both the Australian Albums and Vinyl charts.
