Olivia Rodrigo is once again using her platform to advocate for reproductive rights. Ahead of her upcoming Daisy Chain Fields festival, the popstar joined Planned Parenthood staff for a candid conversation about reproductive health care, emphasizing that women should have the freedom to make decisions about their own bodies and futures.
In videos shared through the Daisy Chain Fields social media accounts, Olivia Rodrigo reflected on why the organization remains important to her while encouraging people to support access to affordable health care and education.
“You don’t need to know every statistic or have a PhD to know that women should be able to be in control,” Rodrigo said while discussing reproductive rights. She later added, “I trust women and girls to make decisions about their own bodies and their own futures.”
The conversations featured Planned Parenthood Action California president Jodi Hicks and Rachel Rodriguez of Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, who spoke with Olivia Rodrigo about the services the organization provides. During the exchange, the singer highlighted the wide range of care available through Planned Parenthood, including STI testing, cancer screenings, abortion care, gender-affirming care, UTI treatment, affordable health services, and comprehensive sex education.
Olivia praised the organization’s staff for continuing their work despite ongoing political challenges surrounding reproductive health care in the United States. She described Planned Parenthood as a trusted resource that has helped millions of people while applauding employees for remaining committed to their mission despite continued attacks on funding and access.
The campaign arrives just weeks before Daisy Chain Fields, the inaugural all-women music festival curated by Olivia Rodrigo on August 29 at Great Park in Irvine, California. Featuring artists including Chappell Roan, Doechii, Mitski, Garbage, KATSEYE, Bikini Kill, Stevie Nicks, Karen O and Sarah McLachlan, the sold-out event will donate 100% of its net proceeds to organizations supporting women’s and girls’ health, rights and empowerment, including Planned Parenthood.
The advocacy effort also comes during a career high for Rodrigo. Her new album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, debuted atop the Billboard 200 with 485,000 equivalent album units, becoming her biggest opening week to date. Following Daisy Chain Fields, she will launch The Unraveled Tour on September 25 in Hartford, Connecticut.
