Fans inside the venue shared clips of Rihanna singing along and dancing to Mariah’s festive classics, including the seasonal staple “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” The atmosphere was relaxed and joyful, with Rihanna fully immersed in the show rather than stealing the spotlight. She was later seen reuniting with Carey backstage for a warm exchange.
The moment recalled last year’s viral appearance at the final stop of Mariah’s Christmas Time tour in Brooklyn. During that show, Carey greeted Rihanna offstage and famously signed her chest with a marker, prompting Rihanna to grab the mic and enthusiastically announce the moment to the crowd.
This year’s appearance was notably more low-key, but no less meaningful. Even so, fans couldn’t resist shouting “Where’s the album?” during the concert, continuing the long-running demand for Rihanna’s highly anticipated next project, R9.
