ILLIT have scored a strong Spotify debut with their fifth EP, BREAK EVEN, as title track “You’re Under Arrest” entered the Daily Global Spotify Chart at No. 98 with 1.32 million streams. The song also debuted at No. 124 on Spotify’s U.S. chart with 321,795 streams, marking the group’s biggest debut for a title track by opening-day streams and their highest chart position for a debut on the global ranking.
Released on October 26, through Belift Lab, BREAK EVEN arrived with promising early streaming figures after surpassing 500,000 pre-saves and topping Spotify’s global Countdown Chart. The title track’s international debut was accompanied by activity across the EP’s other songs, with “POP” entering Spotify’s U.S. chart at No. 175 with 292,295 streams.

ILLIT’s performance was particularly notable in South Korea, where “You’re Under Arrest” opened at No. 7 on the Daily Spotify chart with 60,400 streams. The remaining tracks also entered the ranking: “POP” landed at No. 89 with 18,300 streams, “More” reached No. 173 with 13,100, and “Super in Love” debuted at No. 177 with 13,000 streams. The results gave all four songs a place on the domestic chart on release day.
The title track’s global debut also compares favorably with the opening-day figures for previous ILLIT releases. “It’s Me,” the lead single from April’s MAMIHLAPINATAPAI, debuted with approximately 842,000 Spotify streams, while the title track from BREAK EVEN surpassed that figure with 1.32 million. Earlier EPs recorded estimated first-day Spotify totals of 3.27 million for Super Real Me, 2.29 million for MAMIHLAPINATAPAI, 1.98 million for I’ll Like You and 1.3 million for bomb. The full BREAK EVEN first-day total is still settling, making its eventual performance an important indicator of the group’s streaming momentum.
Beyond Spotify, the EP delivered a new physical-sales milestone. BREAK EVEN sold 382,991 copies on its first day according to Hanteo, surpassing bomb’s previous career high of 326,117 and the 276,145 copies recorded by MAMIHLAPINATAPAI. That represents an increase of roughly 40% over the April release.
The four-track EP also introduces a shift in the group’s storytelling. While MAMIHLAPINATAPAI explored the tension of two people waiting for the other to make the first move, BREAK EVEN examines what happens when a one-sided crush stops feeling worthwhile. “Super in Love” captures dreamy uncertainty, “More” channels frustration through speed-garage production, and “You’re Under Arrest” turns romantic suspicion into playful electro-pop, while “POP” closes the project with baile-funk energy.
Notably, ILLIT promoted the release as a quartet while Moka remained on hiatus. Meanwhile, the group’s long-term streaming benchmark remains “Magnetic,” their 2024 debut single, which has surpassed 900 million Spotify streams and established itself as one of the defining K-pop girl-group debuts of its generation.
