Rosalía is officially entering a new era. After weeks of speculation and a pair of surprise livestreams on TikTok and Instagram, the Spanish superstar announced her fourth studio album, Lux, set to arrive on November 7. The news sent fans into a frenzy — both online and on the streets of Madrid, where thousands gathered at Callao Square for the big reveal.
The excitement marks a major moment for Rosalía, who hasn’t released a full-length project since 2022’s Motomami, her globally acclaimed, genre-defying third album.

In Latin, “Lux” translates to “light,” and both the title and album visuals reflect that theme. The artwork — a minimalist design featuring soft white hues and clean lines — immediately contrasts with the bold, chaotic energy of Motomami.
While Rosalía hasn’t shared the tracklist or any featured artists yet, the visual direction hints at an evolution in sound and message. On October 19, Rosalía shared a snippet of a song that incorporates orchestral elements and appears to explore themes of light and spiritual reinvention.
Photos of physical copies of the album — including CD and vinyl editions — have already surfaced online, showcasing the singer’s ethereal new aesthetic and sparking theories about potential hidden meanings or song titles.
Rosalía unveiled the album in spectacular fashion during a surprise appearance at Madrid’s Callao Square, where she interacted with fans live. The event drew an enormous crowd, underscoring the anticipation for her return.
Rosalía’s previous album, Motomami (2022), set a new standard for experimental pop and Latin fusion. The project won Album of the Year at the Latin Grammys and became the most acclaimed album of 2022 on Metacritic. Motomami featured hits like “La Fama” (with The Weeknd), “Saoko,” and “Despechá,” blending reggaetón, flamenco, jazz, and avant-garde pop. The album’s success led to the massive Motomami World Tour, during which Rosalía performed across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
