Just months after her record-breaking Short n’ Sweet era, Sabrina Carpenter is ready to turn the page. Today, June 11, the two-time Grammy winner announced her seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend. She first teased an announcement with an Instagram Live that included flipping through records by Donna Summer, ABBA, and Dolly Parton before placing her own album on the turntable.

The new album is set to drop August 29, 2025, via Island Records, and will feature 12 tracks. It follows the deluxe edition of Short n’ Sweet and comes out exactly one year and one week after the original version of the album, which dominated global charts, won two Grammy Awards, and made chart history in both the U.S. and U.K.

Leading the new era is the fiery and fun lead single, “Manchild,” a synth-pop anthem co-written by Sabrina alongside Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen. Released on June 5, the track has already been hailed as a potential Song of the Summer, thanks to its disco-kissed beat, biting lyrics, and sharp humor. The 26-year-old singer described it as the musical equivalent of a “loving eye roll”—and fans have been quick to connect its cheeky tone with her ex, Barry Keoghan. The song is accompanied by a music video directed by Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia, featuring Sabrina in a whimsical desert setting with eccentric male characters. She debuted the song live last week at Primavera Sound Barcelona.

Man’s Best Friend arrives at a moment of massive momentum for Sabrina. Her previous album Short n’ Sweet topped the Billboard 200, saw three massive singles—“Espresso,” “Please Please Please,” and “Taste”—join Spotify’s Billions Club, and made her the first artist since Taylor Swift to score four Pop Airplay No. 1s from one album.

Following her announcement, pre-orders for Man’s Best Friend went live at ‘sabrinacarpenter.lnk.to/MansBestFriend’, and anticipation is already building. Additionally, she is heading for her second North American arena tour leg beginning this fall, including a five-night run at Madison Square Garden. Fans can definitely expect more surprises leading up to the album’s late-summer release.
