Sabrina Carpenter is stepping into her new era with her highly anticipated seventh-studio-album, Man’s Best Friend, out tonight via Island Records. Produced by Jack Antonoff and John Ryan, the album showcases Sabrina’s playful storytelling, sharp satire, and striking visuals.

The album’s lead single, “Manchild,” co-written with Amy Allen and Antonoff, stormed to No. 1 in the United States and the United Kingdom, quickly becoming a summer 2025 anthem. As fans count down the hours until the album’s release, here’s what you need to know about Man’s Best Friend.

The Path to Man’s Best Friend

Sabrina Carpenter announced Man’s Best Friend on June 11, unveiling its artwork. Much of the early spotlight has centered on the controversial cover art, with the standard edition depicting the 26-year-old singer in a provocative pose, sparking fierce debate over whether it panders to the male gaze or cleverly subverts it. True to form, Sabrina responded with humor, unveiling multiple alternate covers, including a glamorous “Approved by God” edition.

Beyond the visuals, Sabrina drew inspiration for Man’s Best Friend from some of music’s biggest icons. She cited Dolly Parton, ABBA, and Linda Ronstadt as influences, particularly for their prolific release schedules, noting her desire to maintain momentum after the global success of Short n’ Sweet. Writing sessions began almost immediately after her last record was completed.

Fans played a central role in the album’s rollout. The pop superstar selected 11 fans to unveil the tracklist for Man’s Best Friend. Additionally, ahead of the release, she hosted exclusive listening sessions in Los Angeles, New York, and London, giving a select group of fans a first taste of the full project.
