Out of the blue, Shakira teases new music (an album?) and spreads excitement among fans. The Queen of Latin music shared a short video on her social media, displaying a rotating diamond and clips from her recent music videos, including “Copa Vacía” and “Monotonía”. At the end of the 10-second video, the words “Coming Soon” and her official website, Shakira.com, appear. Additionally, background music with her vocals can be heard. A few words accompanied the teaser in the caption, “estén atentos / stay tuned”.

This was enough to spread excitement among fans. “Shakira is coming,” one wrote, “NEW ERA? Oh periodt,” another added. Perhaps the time to release a new album is approaching, as her latest LP, “El Dorado,” arrived nearly seven years ago, in 2017. The album spawned eight singles, including the hits “La Bicicleta” and “Chantaje”. It was promoted with the El Dorado World Tour in 2018, which marked Shakira’s last concert tour to date.
Despite that, the year 2023 was one to remember for Shakira. In fact, the Colombian singer dominated the charts, especially in Latin countries, with numerous smash hits. The collaboration with Argentinian producer Bizarrap, “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions,” went viral for its lyrics and topped several charts. The critically acclaimed “TQG” topped the Billboard Hot 100 and earned her the Latin Grammy Award for Best Urban Fusion/Performance. She also released successful songs like “Acróstico,” “Copa Vacía,” and “El Jefe”.
