Summer Walker is closing a defining chapter of her career with Finally Over It, her highly anticipated third studio album, arriving tonight via Love Renaissance (LVRN) and Interscope Records. Serving as the final installment of her acclaimed Over It trilogy, the project marks one of the most anticipated releases of this final stretch of the year. As we’re just hours away from the album’s launch, here is everything you need to know about Summer Walker’s Finally Over It.

Who is featured on Finally Over It?

The album boasts an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Mariah the Scientist, Chris Brown, Anderson .Paak, Latto, Bryson Tiller, Brent Faiyaz, Sexyy Red, 21 Savage, and Teddy Swims. The physical edition even features a guest verse from Foggieraw. Adding even more excitement is the last-minute announcement that Doja Cat appears on “Go Girl,” the same track where Latto is featured.

The path to Finally Over It

After the success of Over It (2019) and Still Over It (2021), both of which topped charts and solidified her as one of R&B’s most influential voices, Walker began teasing Finally Over It in late 2024. The announcement arrived on the fifth anniversary of her debut. The lead single, “Heart of a Woman,” was released shortly after. The song is inspired by a real voicemail from her ex-boyfriend, Lil Meech.

Conceptually, the album is divided into two parts: For Better and For Worse. Walker described For Better as a celebration of self-love and maturity, while For Worse represents her final goodbye to toxic relationships. “I’ve loved too hard, ignored red flags, and tried to fix things that were beyond repair,” she explained. “The difference now is I love myself that deeply.

The album’s cover depicts her in a wedding gown beside an elderly groom in a wheelchair — a striking image inspired by Anna Nicole Smith’s infamous 1994 wedding to J. Howard Marshall II. She revealed that Pamela Anderson and vintage Playboy aesthetics also influenced her look and rollout.
