The project has already been previewed with two singles. “End of Summer,” the closing track, was released in July following a surprise vinyl drop on Tame Impala’s webstore. More recently, “Loser” was released as the second single, alongside a video starring Stranger Things actor and musician Joe Keery (aka Djo).
Deadbeat follows 2020’s The Slow Rush, a disco-infused project that earned Parker multiple ARIA Awards and Grammy nominations while cementing his reputation as one of modern music’s most innovative producers.
The rollout of the album has stayed true to Tame Impala’s tradition of cryptic teasers and layered storytelling. Earlier this year, fans discovered unmarked vinyl listings online, while metadata leaks hinted at upcoming singles. The official artwork, revealed alongside the album announcement, adds a personal touch: a photograph of Parker with his young daughter, Peach.
