Taylor Swift has scored another major streaming milestone. Just one day after its release, “I Knew It, I Knew You” debuts at No. 1 on Spotify’s Daily Global Chart with 8.777 million streams, setting a new record for the biggest opening day ever for a soundtrack song in Spotify history.
The achievement arrives less than 48 hours after the track debuted on June 5 through Walt Disney Records as the centerpiece of the upcoming Toy Story 5 soundtrack. Inspired by Jessie’s emotional journey throughout the beloved Pixar franchise, the song immediately connected with listeners worldwide and quickly established itself as one of the biggest releases of the year.
With 8.777 million streams, “I Knew It, I Knew You” also secures the 12th-largest opening day on Spotify globally in 2026. Among female artists, the debut ranks third this year, trailing only Ariana Grande’s “hate that i made you love me” (8.788 million) and Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drop Dead” (10.709 million).
The No. 1 debut follows Spotify’s announcement on June 5 that the track had already become the most-streamed country song by a female artist in a single day in the platform’s history.
Written and produced alongside longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, “I Knew It, I Knew You” serves as Swift’s first new song since The Life of a Showgirl. Shortly after its release, the singer reflected on the project through a heartfelt social media post, describing the experience as both familiar and creatively challenging.
“Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time,” Swift wrote. “Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once.”
