The Kid Laroi is preparing to release his long-awaited sophomore album, Before I Forget, this Friday, January 9. Dropping via Columbia Records, the LP is one of the most anticipated releases of the month, and the Australian hitmaker appears confident about the final result. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Laroi shared just a few words ahead of the release, expressing his satisfaction with the project. “Best album yet,” he wrote. “I promise.”

Building anticipation, The Kid Laroi unveiled the official tracklist last week. Unlike his debut album, The First Time—which featured high-profile collaborations with artists like Jungkook, Central Cee, and FutureBefore I Forget focuses more on emerging talent. The album features contributions from Lithe, Andrew Aged, and Clara La San. The 15-track project includes the previously released singles “A Cold Play”—widely interpreted as a song aimed at Tate McRae—and the introspective “A Perfect World.”

Before I Forget arrives nearly three years after The First Time. That debut album featured a rap-heavy lineup of guest appearances, ranging from YoungBoy Never Broke Again to Lil Yachty. The album spawned some of Laroi’s biggest hits to date, including “Love Again” and “Too Much.” While its performance was modest, The First Time peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard 200 and No. 29 on the UK Albums Chart. It also earned an RIAA Gold certification in the United States for selling over 500,000 units.
