Is another chapter brewing between The Weeknd and Ariana Grande? Fans certainly think so. The Weeknd took to Instagram to celebrate his four collaborations with Grande, punctuating the post with five explosion emojis: “💥💥💥💥…💥”. The message was brief, but the implication felt deliberate. Four hits behind them — and possibly a fifth on the way.

Speculation is nothing new when it comes to this pairing. Over the past decade, the two pop heavyweights have built one of the most commercially reliable partnerships in modern music. It began in 2014 with “Love Me Harder,” a slow-burning duet from Grande’s My Everything that peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Their creative chemistry has only strengthened with time. In 2020, they reunited for “Off the Table,” a moody standout from Grande’s Positions. A year later, the “Save Your Tears (Remix)” became a global event, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard Global 200. In 2023, Grande joined The Weeknd on a remix of “Die For You,” helping propel the track back to the summit after a viral resurgence.

Back in 2024, The Weeknd marked their billion-stream milestone on Instagram with a caption that read, “Just the beginning,” tagging Grande. Even then, fans interpreted the phrase as more than a celebration.

Adding fuel to the conversation, Grande revealed earlier this year in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that the two artists have recorded more material than the public has heard. “We have so many special songs together,” she said, noting that several tracks were shelved because “it wasn’t right for the time.”
