Drake’s historic 2026 run has reached another milestone. The rapper generated 2.7 billion streams on Spotify during May 2026, setting a new all-time record for the most streams earned by a rapper in a single month on the platform.
The achievement caps off one of the most dominant commercial stretches of Drake’s career, fueled by the overwhelming success of his ICEMAN era. Arriving in the middle of May, the campaign immediately reshaped streaming charts worldwide.
The record-breaking month was driven largely by the surprise release strategy behind ICEMAN, HABIBTI, and MAID OF HONOUR. Released following the final installment of Drake’s ICEMAN livestream series on May 15, the three projects delivered a staggering 43 new tracks and generated instant consumption across streaming services.
ICEMAN quickly emerged as the centerpiece of the rollout. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 463,000 equivalent album units, before remaining atop the chart for a second consecutive week with another 225,000 units. At the same time, HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR opened at Nos. 2 and 3, giving Drake an unprecedented sweep of the Billboard 200’s top three positions.
No artist had ever debuted three albums simultaneously inside the top three during the chart’s 70-year history. The feat also secured Drake’s 15th Billboard 200 No. 1 album, moving him past Jay-Z for the most chart-toppers among rappers and tying Taylor Swift for the most by any solo artist.
Streaming numbers proved equally extraordinary. During its opening week, ICEMAN generated 450.4 million streams on Spotify globally, becoming the second-largest streaming debut of 2026 behind BTS’ ARIRANG. The figure also ranks among the biggest opening weeks ever recorded on the platform.
Several songs from the project delivered blockbuster performances. “Janice STFU” opened with 39.2 million streams globally, while “Ran To Atlanta” featuring Future and Molly Santana launched with 36.1 million. “National Treasures,” “Whisper My Name,” and “Make Them Cry” all debuted inside Spotify’s Weekly Global Top 10 as well.
The momentum extended beyond a single album. Across ICEMAN, HABIBTI, and MAID OF HONOUR, Drake placed 25 songs simultaneously on Spotify’s Weekly Global chart, creating the foundation for the record-breaking monthly total.
