Ariana Grande has quietly pulled back the curtain on one of pop music’s most successful partnerships. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the singer revealed that she and The Weeknd have recorded far more music together than fans may realize, including a collection of unreleased songs that never found the right moment to surface.

We have so many special songs together that just really made sense at the time,” Grande said. “There have been others that we have abandoned because it wasn’t right for the time.”

Grande and Abel Tesfaye first joined forces in 2014 with “Love Me Harder,” a sleek, slow-burning hit that immediately showcased their chemistry. The song, featured on Grande’s My Everything, became a defining moment for both artists, peaking at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Since then, their shared musical language has evolved rather than faded. They reunited on “Off the Table” from Positions, before collaborating again on two high-profile remixes. In 2021, Grande lent her voice to “Save Your Tears (Remix),” which became a massive global success. The track hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100—marking their first joint chart-topper—and also peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200.

More recently, in 2023, The Weeknd’s “Die For You” experienced a major resurgence, leading to a remix featuring Grande that helped propel the song back up the charts.
