Tyla is giving fans in her home country a unique way to celebrate the A*POP era. The Grammy-winning star has announced an A*POP Official Takeover event at Gold Reef City theme park in Johannesburg, South Africa, inviting fans to spend a full day with her on Sunday, August 16.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with Tyla revealing the news through Instagram alongside an exclusive ticket giveaway for her fanbase, known as the Tygers.
In her post, Tyla wrote: “POP up w me at Gold Reef City theme park this Sunday 16th August. Giving away 1000 tickets for the first Tygers who… Make a TikTok to their favourite A*POP song, tag @tyla, and #APOPGOLDREEFCITY.” Fans who complete the challenge must also register through the official link shared by the singer for a chance to secure one of the 1,000 free tickets available.
The activation continues Tyla’s creative rollout for A*POP, her sophomore studio album, which arrived on July 24, 2026. Rather than limiting promotion to traditional performances, the “Water” singer has increasingly focused on interactive fan experiences that celebrate the community built around her music.
Just days ago, Tyla unveiled the A*POP World Tour, a 34-date global trek spanning Europe, the United Kingdom, North America, and Africa. The tour kicks off on October 12 in Paris before visiting major cities including London, Berlin, New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Lagos, Cape Town, and Johannesburg.
A*POP has marked another significant milestone in Tyla’s international rise. The 14-track project blends amapiano, pop, and R&B while expanding the sound that introduced her to global audiences. The album was preceded by the singles “Chanel,” “She Did It Again” featuring Zara Larsson, and “Is It,” eventually debuting at No. 43 on the Billboard 200.
Speaking about the album’s creative direction before its release, Tyla described the project as a reflection of her personal growth. “Me being in it, I feel so different to how I felt during the first album,” she said. “I’m just excited for my new one… I feel like a woman.”
