Tyla has reached a new global milestone. Her latest single “Chanel” has climbed to a new peak of No. 10 on the Daily Global Spotify Chart, pulling in 3.07 million streams on December 27. With this achievement, Tyla becomes the first African artist in history to score multiple Top 10 hits on Spotify’s global chart, following the success of her breakout smash “Water.”
The record further cements Tyla’s rapid rise from regional standout to global pop force. Since “Water” turned her into an international name in 2023, the South African singer has steadily expanded her reach, delivering hit after hit.
Released on October 24 via FAX and Epic Records, “Chanel” was produced by Ian Kirkpatrick and P2J, with Tyla also contributing to the songwriting alongside Douglas Ford and Bibi Bourelly. The song’s instantly quotable hook — “How you say you love me? You ain’t put me in Chanel” — helped fuel its viral momentum, particularly across streaming platforms and social media.
The rollout was carefully built over several months. Tyla first previewed “Chanel” during a fan event in Berlin in July before teasing it again at the Global Citizen Festival in September. Its high-fashion music video, featuring vintage Chanel pieces styled by Ron Hartleben, premiered on release day and reinforced the song’s luxury-driven aesthetic. Live performances on her We Wanna Party Tour, including a standout show in Tokyo, further boosted global interest.
Commercially, “Chanel” has delivered strong results across multiple territories. The single reached the top 20 in markets such as Australia, South Africa, Singapore, and the UAE, while also charting throughout Europe and Africa. On the Billboard Global 200, it peaked at No. 28, marking Tyla’s highest entry since “Water.” The song also debuted at No. 94 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her third appearance on the chart.
