On August 24, 2010, Katy Perry released her first chart-topping album ‘Teenage Dream.’ The LP achieved worldwide success and was propelled by hit singles like ‘California Gurls’ and ‘Firework.’ It received universal critical acclaim. Billboard named ‘Teenage Dream’ ‘one of the defining LPs from a new golden age in mega-pop.’
The album made history in the US as it became the first album by a woman to produce 5 No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 since Michael Jackson’s 1987 album ‘Bad.’
The album and its singles earned Katy seven Grammy nominations, but unfortunately, she didn’t take home any of them. Despite that, ‘Teenage Dream’ is one of the best-selling albums of the 2010s with over 11 million sales worldwide.
As mentioned, ‘Teenage Dream’ spawned numerous hit singles, including the title track and ‘E.T.,’ and now you have to choose just one of them!
