What Is Harryween?
Harryween is the fan-coined name for Harry Styles’ Halloween concerts, which combine themed costumes, coordinated outfits from his band and unexpected musical moments. The tradition officially began in 2021, although one of its earliest inspirations dates back to 2018, when Styles attended the Casamigos Halloween party in a rhinestone-covered Los Angeles Dodgers baseball uniform inspired by Elton John’s iconic 1975 Dodger Stadium outfit.
The first official Harryween concerts were originally scheduled for October 30 and 31, 2020, at Madison Square Garden during the Fine Line era of Love On Tour. The COVID-19 pandemic postponed the shows by a year, but the eventual celebrations became some of the tour’s most memorable performances.
Harry Styles’ Harryween Costume History
2021: Dorothy and the Pierrot Clown
The first Harryween took place at Madison Square Garden on October 30 and 31, 2021, with Orville Peck as the special guest. Harry Styles opened the celebrations dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, wearing a custom Gucci blue-and-white gingham dress designed with Alessandro Michele. Red tights, glittery heels resembling ruby slippers, a hair bow and a picnic basket containing a stuffed Toto completed the outfit.
His band joined the theme as characters from the classic film, including the Cowardly Lion, Glinda, the Wicked Witch of the West, the Tin Man and the Scarecrow. The evening ended with Styles performing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
For Halloween night, he traded Dorothy’s look for an elaborate white Pierrot clown costume, featuring ruffles, lace, celestial motifs and decorative face jewels. The performance included “Medicine,” a rarely performed original song, and a cover of Britney Spears’ “Toxic.”
2022: Danny Zuko From Grease
Harryween returned on October 31, 2022, at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles during Styles’ 15-show residency at the venue. This time, he embraced the world of Grease, transforming into Danny Zuko with a black leather jacket, a black top decorated with glittery red “Harryween” lettering, dark trousers and a jet-black pompadour wig.
He entered to “You’re the One That I Want” before performing the film’s signature hand jive. The most emotional moment came with a cover of Olivia Newton-John’s “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” accompanied by photographs of the late actress on the screens. His band also participated, dressing as characters from Rydell High, including members of the Pink Ladies.
Harryween 2026: Dates, Venue and Show Times
The 2026 edition closes Harry Styles’ 30-show Together, Together residency at Madison Square Garden, part of his world tour supporting his fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., released in March.
The two concerts are officially billed “Harry Styles: Together, Together. Harryween.” They take place on Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31. The residency began August 26, with the final weekend representing Styles’ only U.S. dates of the year.
Both nights follow the same expected schedule:
- Venue: Madison Square Garden, New York City
- Dates: October 30 and 31, 2026
- Doors: 7 p.m.
- Opening act: Jamie xx, around 8 p.m.
- Harry Styles: Expected around 9 p.m.
The specific Halloween theme and Styles’ costumes have not been officially announced. However, during a midweek performance, he joked that his next appearance would see him dressed as “some sort of slutty pumpkin or something” while thanking the MSG staff.
What to Wear to Harryween 2026: Costume Rules
Dressing up is a major part of the Harryween experience, and fans are encouraged to arrive in elaborate Halloween outfits. Previous celebrations have featured recreations of Styles’ past stage looks, Fine Line album artwork, music-video characters and coordinated group costumes.
Madison Square Garden’s safety guidelines still apply. Full-face coverings are permitted only after security clearance and must be removable upon request. Large headpieces, face paint that obscures identification, fake weapons and potentially hazardous or disruptive accessories are prohibited. Bags must fit beneath seats, with a maximum approximate size of 22 × 14 × 9 inches, and the venue does not offer a coat check.
Harryween 2026: Spotify’s Despacio Party and NYC Fan Events
The celebrations extend beyond Madison Square Garden. On October 31, Spotify and Styles Harry have curated Spotify Presents: Harryween, a one-night-only disco party running from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at a New York City venue.
The event features Despacio, the acclaimed sound system created by LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy and Soulwax/2manydjs’ David and Stephen Dewaele. Returning to New York after nearly a decade, the experience draws inspiration from the dance-floor energy of Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. Styles will not attend, and entry is available through a first-come, first-served RSVP system subject to capacity.
