Drake has once again blurred the line between music, spectacle, and sports betting. The global rap star revealed that he has placed a $1 million wager on the New England Patriots to win the Super Bowl, a bet that would net him more than $2 million in profit if it hits. The rapper shared a screenshot of the wager on Instagram, pairing it with a confident caption: “Bet against me if you dare.”
The post immediately sparked conversation across social media, where Drake’s betting history has become almost as closely followed as his chart performance. Over the past several years, the Toronto artist has developed a reputation for placing eye-catching, high-risk wagers on major sporting events, particularly the Super Bowl. His betting slips often go viral within minutes.
This latest move fits squarely within that pattern. Drake is no stranger to staking seven figures on football. During the 2024 Super Bowl, he placed nearly $1 million across various bets involving the Kansas City Chiefs. At the time, he joked about pop culture crossover, telling fans he “couldn’t bet against the Swifties,” a nod to the media frenzy surrounding the game.
Still, Drake’s gambling record is far from spotless. While he has celebrated notable wins, his losses reportedly exceed $30 million over time. In 2024, he lost $300,000 after betting on Canada to defeat Argentina in an international soccer match. One of his most publicized setbacks came in 2022, when a $500,000 bet on UFC champion Israel Adesanya ended in defeat against Sean Strickland. Those moments have only added to the mythology surrounding his wagers, often dubbed the “Drake curse” by fans.
