J. Cole has officially announced his long-awaited new album, The Fall-Off, set for release on February 6. The surprise reveal arrived without fanfare, paired with a brief but evocative video teaser that immediately sparked excitement for one of the most anticipated comebacks in rap.

Shortly after the announcement, J. Cold shared a new song from the album. The video features the following message: “For the past 10 years, this album has been hand crafted with one intention: a personal challenge to myself to create my best work. To do on my last what I was unable to do on my first. I had no way of knowing how much time, focus and energy it would eventually take to achieve this, but despite the countless challenges along the way, I knew in my heart I would one day get to the finish line. I owed it first and foremost to myself. And secondly, I owed it to hip hop.”

The Fall-Off marks his first full-length studio album since The Off-Season in 2021. That album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, delivered the biggest streaming week of the year at the time, and earned widespread critical praise. It also showcased a more open, collaborative side of Cole, featuring appearances from 21 Savage, Lil Baby, Morray, and others, without diluting his voice or vision.

The Off-Season received a nomination for Best Rap Album at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. Additionally, “Pride Is the Devil” was nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance, while “My Life” earned nominations for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance.

Details such as the tracklist and featured collaborators remain under wraps, but Cole has already unveiled the album’s cover art.
