Kendrick Lamar’s GNX has unexpectedly disappeared from several major streaming platforms, triggering widespread confusion and speculation. As of May 11, the Grammy-winning album appears unavailable on Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music, while multiple related videos briefly vanished from YouTube as well.
Among the affected uploads were the official videos for “Not Like Us” and “luther.” Both clips initially displayed a “removed by the uploader” notice before Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “luther” visual quietly returned to YouTube a few hours later. At press time, neither Lamar, pgLang, nor Interscope Records has issued a public explanation regarding the temporary removals.
The sudden disappearance immediately sparked debate online, especially given GNX’s enormous commercial and critical impact since its surprise release on November 22, 2024.
Confusion intensified because the removals happened across multiple platforms simultaneously rather than affecting only one streaming service. That pattern often points toward distributor-level changes or temporary rights-management conflicts rather than isolated technical outages. Still, without official confirmation, the exact reason remains unknown.
GNX marked a pivotal chapter in Lamar’s career. Released through pgLang and Interscope following his departure from Top Dawg Entertainment and Aftermath, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and became one of the defining rap releases of 2024.
Commercially, the project delivered some of Lamar’s biggest post-Mr. Morale successes. “Squabble Up” and “luther” both reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, while “TV Off” peaked at No. 2. “Peekaboo” also emerged as a streaming favorite, helping sustain the album’s momentum well into 2025.
Awards season only strengthened the album’s legacy. At the 68th Grammy Awards, GNX earned eight nominations and secured four wins, including Best Rap Album. “luther” took home Record of the Year and Best Melodic Rap Performance, while “TV Off” won Best Rap Song. Those victories officially pushed Lamar to 27 Grammy wins, making him the most awarded rapper in Grammy history.
