Latto has seemingly confirmed the birth of her first child with 21 Savage while simultaneously pushing forward the rollout for her upcoming album Big Mama. On May 18, the Atlanta rapper shared a deeply personal trailer featuring footage from her pregnancy journey, ending months of speculation surrounding the couple’s relationship.
The emotional clip opens with footage filmed during the early stages of pregnancy in Tokyo, where Latto references being around five weeks pregnant, before transitioning into scenes from her baby shower, intimate moments with 21 Savage, and emotional mirror videos captured at 37 weeks. Toward the end of the trailer, audio from the baby’s birth can be heard, effectively confirming that the child has already arrived ahead of Big Mama’s May 29 release.
Throughout the video, Latto balances vulnerability with humor. In one scene, she tears up while discussing motherhood and how excited she is to finally meet her baby. Moments later, she jokes that she plans to charge “$1 million a show” moving forward because she “won’t wanna leave the house” as a new mom.
Fans had already connected many of the dots back in March when Latto announced her pregnancy alongside the release of “Business & Personal (Intro).” The visual for that song subtly included 21 Savage’s tattooed hand resting on her stomach, fueling speculation that he was the father. While the pair largely kept their relationship private for years, rumors linking the two date back to around 2020.
Over the last year, Latto became increasingly open about the relationship, occasionally referring to 21 Savage as her “man” and even her “husband” during interviews and online interactions.
The announcement arrives during a major transitional moment in Latto’s career. Big Mama, due May 29 through Streamcut and RCA Records, serves as the follow-up to 2024’s Sugar Honey Iced Tea and has already generated conversation thanks to its highly personal direction. The 17-track album includes previously released singles “Somebody,” “Business and Personal (Intro),” and “GOMF” featuring GloRilla.
Earlier this month, Latto also shocked fans by posting on X that Big Mama would be her “final album,” though she has not elaborated on whether that statement signals retirement, a hiatus, or simply the closing of one chapter in her career.
