Megan Thee Stallion’s Broadway chapter is closing earlier than expected. On April 27, the Houston star announced via Instagram that her final performance in Moulin Rouge! The Musical will now take place Friday, May 1, cutting short what was originally billed as a strictly limited engagement scheduled through May 17.
“Hotties, my last performance as Zidler in @moulinrougebway will be May 1,” Megan wrote, thanking the cast, crew, and fans who supported her historic run. “It’s been such an honor to be part of thee Moulin Rouge family… I’m so grateful for the cast and crew that made this experience so meaningful.”
When Megan stepped into the role of Harold Zidler on March 24, she made history as the first female-identifying performer to portray the character in any production of Moulin Rouge! worldwide.
Across just over five weeks, Megan’s presence brought new attention to the long-running production, introducing her fanbase to Broadway. Her casting also arrived during a particularly visible stretch of her career, one now complicated by personal headlines following her highly publicized split from Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson.
That timing has inevitably sharpened public curiosity around her early exit. While Megan did not cite a reason for shortening the run, the announcement lands only days after her April 25 Instagram Story accusing Thompson of cheating and confirming the relationship’s collapse. She later told TMZ, “Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship,” framing the breakup as a decisive personal reset.
Whether the two developments are directly related remains unclear.
