Halsey has been a powerhouse in the music industry for the past decade, capturing fans’ hearts with her raw vocals and heartfelt lyrics. In 2015, her debut album Badlands received critical acclaim, thanks to singles like “Colors” and “New Americana.” The following year, she was featured on The Chainsmokers’ global hit “Closer,” further solidifying her status as one of music’s rising stars. In 2017, she released her sophomore album Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, and three years later, her third album Manic cemented her as one of the most influential artists of her generation. The album’s lead single, “Without Me,” became a global phenomenon, topping the Billboard Hot 100 and earning Diamond certification in the U.S. Over her career, Halsey has pushed boundaries, exploring new soundscapes. Despite her success, Halsey’s personal journey has been anything but easy. Beyond her recent health issues, she experienced many highs and lows during her teenage years. Born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, she revealed that she was bullied in school and attempted suicide at the age of 17. During that time, she was romantically involved with a 24-year-old man and began writing music. He lived near the Halsey Street station in Brooklyn, which inspired her to adopt “Halsey” as her stage name. Additionally, she chose “Halsey” because it’s an anagram of her first name, Ashley. In her early years of performing, she used a few different stage names before fully settling on Halsey.
The rest is history. Now 31, Halsey is one of the most respected singers in the industry, collecting multiple awards, including an American Music Award, three Billboard Music Awards, and an MTV Video Music Award.
