WINTER will miss aespa’s Dallas concert after being diagnosed with shingles, SM Entertainment announced ahead of the group’s SYNK : COMPLaeXITY show at American Airlines Center. The singer will also be absent from the scheduled Hi-Bye and Send-Off events, with KARINA, GISELLE and NINGNING set to perform as a trio.
According to SM Entertainment’s notice, WINTER had been experiencing health issues before aespa’s recent Miami concert but chose to perform alongside her bandmates. Her condition did not improve sufficiently afterward, prompting her to visit a hospital following the Miami show, where she was diagnosed with shingles.

WINTER reportedly remained focused on recovering in the hope of appearing in Dallas. She and the company continued monitoring her condition until the final decision, but medical professionals recommended that she prioritize her health and allow enough time for recovery. Following discussions between WINTER and the company, the decision was made for her to sit out the Dallas date.
The announcement means aespa’s SYNK : COMPLaeXITY performance in Dallas will proceed with three members. KARINA, GISELLE and NINGNING will also handle the fan-facing Hi-Bye and Send-Off activities originally scheduled to include all four members.
SM Entertainment said WINTER had been looking forward to meeting fans in Dallas and was disappointed that she could not participate. The company also apologized for the sudden announcement and said it would provide WINTER with the necessary rest and support as she recovers.
The Dallas concert is part of aespa’s fourth concert tour, SYNK : COMPLaeXITY, which launched on August 7, 2026, at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome. The tour was announced in April following the conclusion of the group’s previous SYNK : AEXIS LINE tour and was designed to take aespa across Asia, Latin America, North America and Europe.
After Dallas, the North American schedule continues with a show at Los Angeles’ Intuit Dome on October 3. The tour will then continue through additional international dates before concluding February 2, 2027, at Accor Arena in Paris.
SYNK : COMPLaeXITY also supports aespa’s second full-length album, Lemonade, which was announced in April and released in May.
